Carshalton Athletic forward Tommy Bradford was spot on as he and his team-mates took a point at second-placed Worthing on Saturday.

Trailing their hosts 2-0 with half an hour to go, the Robins won two penalties which Bradford converted and the final result also meant they remain unbeaten since Boxing Day.

The point keeps Carshalton just outside the Ryman Division One South play-off positions ahead of a match against South Park this weekend.

"It was a funny game but we showed good character in the end," said Bradford.

"We were pleased to come away with a point after a disappointing first half display, but I feel our performance after the break, even though we conceded a second, could've earned us all three."

His club has not had much luck with penalties - with five missed so far this season - but Bradford, who has now scored in four consecutive games, felt confident to take both.

"I just decided to smash the second one rather than play guessing games against the keeper," he added.

"I'm happy to keep taking our penalties moving forwards."

The Robins welcome mid-table South Park to Colston Avenue on Saturday (kick-off 3pm) and both sides will be looking to register their first win of 2016.

"It'll be a competitive game against South Park but we're at home and, if we play to our strengths, then we have every chance of victory," Bradford added.
