Corinthian Casuals secured their first win on Guernsey soil in a dominant display that saw the Tolworth side run out 4-2 winners, but boss James Bracken believed it could have been better.

Second half goals from Emmanuel Akokhia (two), Juevan Spencer and Matt Reece put the visitors out of sight and sent Bracken’s side up to third in the table after 10 games.

Guernsey, who went down to ten men just before the break when Jamie Dodd was dismissed for two cautions, could not match the firepower of Casuals and could only muster consolations via Matt Loaring and a last gasp penalty from Ross Allen.

“It could have been more, not with just half chances, but with absolute clear-cut chances," said Bracken.

"One-on-ones and great saves by their keeper. Realistically, if we’d have won by seven or eight, you wouldn’t have really argued.

“We were creating chances against them before they went down to 10 men and I felt we were quite comfortable dealing with them before the sending off. So we didn’t change our game plan.

"We weren’t going to push the panic button, go all-out attack on them and have the chance of being caught on the break.

"So we kept it the same with the exception of getting our wingers to get a little wider and stretch them and it worked.”

Corinthian Casuals travel to Whyteleafe in the League on Tuesday.
