Carshalton Athletic may have endured another tough year on the pitch, but the club is going all out to attract new fans to Colston Avenue next season.

Last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at Three Bridges saw Rob Scantlebury’s men finish 20th in Ryman Division One South, just three points above the dropzone.

They were 3-0 down before a Adriano Moraes penalty and Tommy Bradford made for a nervy finale for the hosts.

The Robins are now preparing for next season, starting with a pay-as-you-go ticket offer that could see fans paying as little as £1 on the gate.

Families of two or more can pay £10 in total up front, and then benefit from entrance fees throughout the season of £5 for up to five family members.

The promotion comes on the back of a £500,000 redevelopment plan for Colston Avenue, including a new 3G pitch.

The Robins director Paul Williams said: “It’s just what families want in these times of austerity.

“The pay-as-you-go season ticket is aimed at families who want a football day out at an affordable price without paying a fortune up front or being tied into going to every match for a whole season.”

The offer is only open to residents of the borough of Sutton, and to apply text Robin to 88802 or go to cafc.club.
