Chairman Steve McPherson is opening the Beveree gates for the final home game of the season.

Beavers host already-relegated Bury Town on Saturday knowing a win will guarantee Ryman Premier Division safety for another season and fans can pay what they want to get in.

A run of three games without defeat, including last weekend’s 4-0 win at Canvey Island, means Alan Dowson has two games left to get the three points he needs to stay up.

The final match of of the season, at struggling Peacehaven & Telscombe, would be a formality if Beavers overcome Bury this weekend.

McPherson said: “It’s been a long old season and the final home game is upon us.

“We wanted to make it a party atmosphere and of course say thank you to everyone who has backed us once again.

“Pay what you want is a perfect way to sign off the season and we can welcome a lot more people through the gate.

“We’re targeting a crowd of 1,000 – it would be fantastic if everyone got right behind this.”

He added: “The players have been brilliant lately and it would be great if we could get what we need on the pitch and beat our highest crowd of the season, when we did this against VCD Athletic and 822 turned up.

“As chairman and with a long summer on the horizon, of course we hope that fans dig as deep as possible and also spend some money behind the bar.

“We’re a club where every penny counts so come on down and get behind us.”

Beavers’ win at Canvey Island came courtesy of a double strike from Moussa Diarra, Charlie Moone’s 19th goal of the season and a Jerome Federico goal.
