Hampton & Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson has finally got his man after Brendan Kiernan became a Hampton player this week – ending the manager’s four year wait.

The former Kingstonian manager has been chasing the 22-year-old attacking midfielder since 2011 when he was breaking through the youth ranks of AFC Wimbledon.

Kiernan joins from Ebbsfleet United and will spend the final month of the season helping keep the club in the Ryman Premier League.

Dowson hopes to include the ex-Bromley man in the squad for the two games against Billericay Town and Kingstonian this Easter weekend.

“This is our last signing of the season but it could well be the most important," said the manager.

“Brendan can turn a match and change the result out of nothing, he is that type of exciting player the fans love to watch.

“I’ve been trying to sign Brendan for four years now and my patience has finally paid off!

“We’ve got a huge four weeks ahead and a massive five games that we have to be ready for.

"It’s a big, big month for everyone and we thought it important that he make one more move in the transfer market to give ourselves the best possible chance of staying in the league.”
