Tooting & Mitcham United boss Craig Tanner has put his side's dire run of results down to a dip in form and a lack of luck.
The Terrors are without a win in Ryman Division One South 10 outings, including a 2-2 draw at Chipstead on Saturday, and they have slipped to ninth.
However, Tanner is hoping a 3-1 midweek win over Mole Valley in the Surrey County Cup can inspire a bit of league form.
He said: “Our form’s dipped a bit recently and we’ve not had much luck. We’ve played well but things haven’t gone our way, we’ve conceded crucial goals at key moments.
"We’ve also had a few injuries which have affected performance.
“Howard Newton has been out for the past few months following an ankle injury and we’ve just got our top goalscorer [Dan Summers] back from injury, he scored off the bench against Mole Valley so we hope he’ll give us a boost.”
Tanner added: “We’ve got Ramsgate this Saturday and we’re hoping for a win.
"We looked at the start of the season like we were going for play-offs, having signed a few players, and that still could happen, we just need a winning run now.
“The difference between teams in this league isn’t necessarily where they are in the league, but who turns up wanting it and with good form.”
