Honours were even in this tight match between Leafe and the Swans, where few chances were created and a 1-1 draw was a fair result.

Leafe remain in the top five in Ryman Division One South, while Walton & Hersham sit in 16th.

Whyteleafe got off to bright start and took an early lead when, in the fourth minute, Ryan Fowler's corner was met at the near post by Jensen Grant, and his header flew into the far corner of the net.

Any thoughts that this may be the start of an entertaining game soon disappeared as the game got bogged down in midfield with neither side taking control.

The Swans should have equalised in the 10th minute but Dylan Cascoe sliced wide when well placed, and Leafe presented the visitors with another chance in the 18th minute when a poor clearance fell to Cascoe.

His run into the box was dangerous but a fine saving tackle from Dylan Merchant thwarted him as he was about to pull the trigger.

The visitors equalised on the half hour when Dominic Ogun's free kick was met on the edge of the box by Gareth Chendlik who flicked the ball on.

It evaded everyone and went into the back of Sheikh Ceesay's net.

The second half was much the same - Ceesay made a couple of good saves in the Whyteleafe goal, firstly from Ogun in the 53rd minute following a good run and also in the 64th minute from Chendlik.

He also had to tip over a 40-yard free kick from Ogun that was drifting towards the top corner of the goal.

DSane was amazed not to win a free kick when he broke clear of the Swans defence but was brought down from behind.

Gary Ross made a couple of late saves to deny Sam Clayton from an 82nd minute 25-yard shot, and did well to save with his feet from DSane, but neither side ever really looked likely to net a winner.
