Whyteleafe’s rise to third in the Ryman Division One South table owes a lot to the goals of Greg Andrews, and his former employer says there are more to come – with a proviso.

The former Leatherhead man has hit seven league goals this season, including two off the bench in Tuesday night’s win at Hythe Town.

Another Leafe man, who used to turn out in the green of the Tanners, getting the plaudits is Bentley Graham, with the midfielder turning in eye-catching performances in the past two outings.

Leatherhead boss Richard Brady released both Andrews and Graham in 2012 as the Tanners eventually won promotion to the Ryman Premier.

Andrews joined the Leafe revolution last season via stints at Walton & Hersham and Walton Casuals, while Graham made the direct switch midway through the year before.

Brady said: “Greg will always score goals at Kent League and Ryman Division One South level, he’s a natural goal-scorer.

“But I am not sure he can produce the same at Ryman Premier level, that’s my only concern.”

He added: “I would guess he and Bentley are quite bitter at me because I had to let them go when we were going for promotion – but that is football.”

This afternoon, Leafe entertain Redhill at Church Road, while the Tanners welcome Witham Town to Fetcham Grove (both kick-off at 3pm).
