Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson has warned his men they will not achieve anything this term unless they stop leaking goals.
Ks crashed 3-0 at home to new league leaders Maidstone United on Saturday in front of a bumper 687 crowd at Kingsmeadow.
Dowson’s men have now conceded 18 goals in their past 10 Ryman Premier League matches and have dropped from the top of the table to fourth in that time.
“We could not defend for toffee on Saturday and our goalkeeper probably had his worst game of the season,” he said.
“We will not get anywhere if we cannot defend.
“At the start of the season we were keeping clean sheets, but now we look like we are going to concede every time we go out there.
“We’ve tried everything, but our defending has gone massively backwards.”
Ks, who travel to Leiston on Saturday, still have the second tightest defence in the league and Dowson has not given up on the title as the race for the top five becomes ever tighter.
“We have got 18 games to go, so we have to believe we are still in it,” he added.
“If we can keep things tight at the back, we have got the players who can score goals.
“We need someone to stand up and be counted and start playing well again."
