QPR 0 v 0 CRYSTAL PALACE

Welcome to this afternoon's game at Loftus Road between QPR and Crystal Palace after a two-week break that both teams probably needed.

Neil Warnock makes two changes to the side that secured a goalless draw against Reading two Saturday's ago as Claude Davis returns from injury in place of Jose Fonte, while Nick Carle comes in for John Oster.

Palace: Speroni, Clyne, Lawrence, Davis, Hill, Derry, Oster, Danns, Stokes, Kuqi, Moses. Subs: J Fonte, Scowcroft, Hills, Ifill, R Fonte.

QPR: Cerny, Delaney, Leigertwood, Routledge, Gorkss, Ramage, Connolly, Miller, Di Carmine, Ephraim, Taarabt. Subs: Stewart, Vine, Cook, Balanta, Alberti.

As the two chairman, Simon Jordan and Flavio Briatorre, shake hands below me the two sides come out with Palace in the yellow tops of their away kit and the white shorts and socks of their home kit so as not to clash with Rangers' blue shorts.

min: Palace get play under way in the sunshine.

min: Routledge's first touch gets roundly booed by the Palace fans and he promptly puts his pass straight out of play. Seconds later Derry has the first shot of the day and his half volley from fully 30 yards goes only narrowly wide. Good try.

min: Ramage goes past Hill down the right and puts in a good cross to the near post but no one attacks it and Speroni claims. All been a bit scrappy so far.

min: The Palace fans come out with a wonderful rendition of 'your support is f****** s***' directed at the home fans who have been quiet.

min: They've perked up now as Miller has the best chance of the day so far. Routledge played him through with a delightful ball but his near post shot is saved by Speroni, should have gone across the keeper really. QPR on top now.

min: Davis is a lucky boy as he elbows Di Carmine right in front of the linesman but gets away with it as the ref gives a foul but nothing more. From here it looked pretty blatant.

min: Carle wins a free kick in a good position but Moses wastes it as his delivery goes behind the onrushing Eagles players.

min: Taarabt weaves his way through the Palace midfield on the edge of the box but shoots straight at Speroni. Good chance.

min: YELLOW CARD. Hill booked for body checking Routledge as he sped past him. He was always going to get booked at some point against Routledge but Warnock would have hoped it would be a little bit later.

min: Speroni pulls off a good reaction save as Clyne inadvertently diverts Di Carmine's cross goalward. All came from a poor mistake by Davis misplacing a simple pass to Derry in the centre circle. Palace are poor at the second.

min: Speroni saves twice at point blank range from Di Carmine but the forward is given offside anyway.

min: Hill really struggling after getting an ankle knock and looks like he might be coming off. You can't have someone playing against Routledge on one leg.

min: SUB. Hill trudges off and on comes Jose Fonte. Clyne goes to left back to counter Routledge and Lawrence moves to right back, putting Jose alongside Davis.

min: Ephraim in miles of space on the left runs into the box but Lawrence gets back just in time to make a block. He was caught horribly out of position then though.

min: Two minutes added on.

min: YELLEW CARD. As Davis goes to kick the ball Di Carmine bends down to head it and the Jamaican catches him in the face causung an almighty rucus that sees Sousa come on to the pitch to remonstrate with Davis. Davis is booked and after a long coverstaion between the ref, linesman, Sousa, Gareth Ainsworth and Warnock, Sousa is sent to the stands.

HALF TIME: That bit of action at the end there was the best we have seen all day, with both sides showing why they are languishing in mid table.

min: SUB. Miller off, Cook on. as QPR get us back under way.

min: There's the Victor we know and love as he twists on the edge of the box and curls one towards the top corner that Cerny has to tip over. Carle's corner then flashes across the box and no one ges a touch.

min: Danns win a free kick 20 yards out that Stokes takes for Fonte at the back post but he can only head over at a stretch. Good start from Palace.

min: As I say that QPR get two chances in quick succession. First Di Carmine is put through by Taarabt but takes too long too shoot and Davis blocks, then Routledge connects with a cross at the back post but his volley goes just wide.

min: Attendance 15,234

min: A much better game now but that wasn't hard. QPR just about edging it.

min: QPR should be ahead as Di Carmine's flick puts Taarabt through but he spoons his shot over from seven yards. Bad miss.

min: YELLOW CARD. Lawrence booked for a kick from behind to Cook's achilles. Might have been a little harsh.

min: Stokes, who has been bery quiet today shoots from outside the box but it bobbled through to Cerny. The game has gone back to the same level of quality we saw in the first, with plenty of mnisplaced balls.

min: Half a chance for Stokes as Lawrence's cross ricochets into his path but he can't get a good contact on the shot.

min: SUB: Taarabt goes of and on comes Rowan Vine, out for a year and one day after breaking his leg. He gets a massive round of applause.

min: There's a lot more noise from the QPR crowd as they've begun pressing but with no real penetration. This game has 0-0 written all over it.

min: Half a chance for Moses as QPR fail to deal with a corner but the younsgters shoots wide.

min: SUB. Stokes replaced by Ifill. A minute ago he had a good chance Stokes but didn't make the best of it in another scramble in the QPR box.

min: Instant impact from Ifill as he finds space 20 yards out but he drags his shot wide. Then a minute later Di Carmine is given offside in a great position.

min: YELLOW CARD. Moses booked for pulling back Delaney as goes away from him.

min: SUB: Kuqi off, Scowcroft on.

min: SUB: Di Carmine off, Balanta on.

min: Fonte survives a penalty shout as Vine tries to go round him witht the forward appealing for handball.

min: Three minutes added on.

min: That sums the game up as Vine crosses high into the stands from a good position.

FULL TIME: Well that wasn't much fun really. The game lacked any sort of quality but QPR edged it on chances as yet again the Eagles failed to make Cerny make any sort of reasonable save. Next up is Clinton Morrison's return to Selhurst Park with Coventry on Tuesday night. See you then.
