Mile Jedinak’s proposed move to Aston Villa would be good for the midfielder, according to his national manager.
The Crystal Palace legend has been heavily linked with Villa for a fee of around £4m, and was snapped arriving at Villa Park yesterday for a medical.
Rumours have spread that Palace boss Alan Pardew has been getting flak from inside the dressing room after replacing Jedinak as skipper with Scott Dann.
The Times newspaper reported that Jedinak said: “I had a conversation [with Pardew]. It was not the longest conversation, but I was told of the decision.”
Aussie boss Ange Postecoglou reckons any rumours of transfers and in-house unrest will not affect the 32-year-old.
He told ESPN: “Players are always happier when they’re settled rather than a little bit of indecision or conjecture over their futures.
“If the move to Villa does come to fruition, he’ll be in a good place mentally.
“It certainly won’t affect him in any way, he’s an outstanding leader and he’s been fantastic for us since I made him skipper.”
