Wayne Hennessey believes Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew still does not know his starting XI for the FA Cup final.

Palace take on Manchester United at Wembley on May 21, with only a final league game against Southampton ahead of the clash.

But the Palace goalkeeper insisted they’ll travel to St Mary’s looking to win, with every player still battling for their place in the final.

“I don’t think the gaffer will know his starting XI yet,” he said.

“There’ll be places to grab and hopefully we can do that at Southampton.

“They’re not just going to walk us over. We’re going into the final so we want to try and get something out of the game.”

Hennessey admitted it was a huge relief for Palace to confirm their Premier League status with the 2-1 win over Stoke, but said the Eagles should be higher up the table.

“We’ve got a lot of talent in that dressing room and we shouldn’t really be down the bottom,” he added.

“But it’s a good relief for us, we’re solid in the Premier League and we can focus on the final now.”

Hennessey, 29, opened up about his own position in the Palace side, revealing it has been a mixed journey for him.

The former Wolves goalkeeper went out on loan to Yeovil after suffering an injury, and has now established himself as the Palace, and Wales, No.1.

“It’s been up and down for me, I had an injury at Wolves, a long time out there,” he said.

“I needed to go out and play games before I got into the Wolves first team. Yeovil really helped me and got me back fully fit.

“I got my move here, had the season where I was back up to Julian Speroni, but now I’ve come in and I’m relishing my spot.

“Hopefully it can continue.”
