Emmanuel Adebayor says reaching the FA Cup final with Crystal Palace would be his finest moment in English football.

The former Arsenal, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur forward is yet to win a major honour in his 10 years in the Premier League.

And Adebayor, who also played for Real Madrid, said overcoming Watford on Sunday to reach the final would be a career highlight.

“It would be one of the best in my career,” said Adebayor.

“I did not play in the FA Cup final for Arsenal, Manchester City or Tottenham.

“For me it would be my best moment in England – which is normal because I did not win anything with Arsenal, Manchester City or Tottenham.

“Let's get out there, enjoy our football and take it from there.”

Adebayor was part of the Spurs team that lost 5-1 to Chelsea in the 2012 FA Cup semi-final, but the Togo international is looking forward to returning to Wembley.

With his previous clubs featuring in the latter stages of competitions more often, Adabeyor admitted the achievement would be even more special at Palace.

“It is good to go back to Wembley, especially with Crystal Palace,” he added.

“I played with three big clubs in England and I've got the chance to go to Wembley with the smallest among those four clubs I have played for and it is even more beautiful.

“It means this club has something special, they have a good manager and a good team and we don't play the best football sometimes, which is normal because of the players we have got – but trust me it is a beautiful club and I am just enjoying myself again.”

Palace face Watford at Wembley on Sunday hoping to reach their first FA Cup final since 1990.
