Crystal Palace are locked in talks with Premier League rivals Swansea over a switch deal involving Dwight Gayle and Bafetimbi Gomis, according to the Sun.

It is claimed that both Gayle, 25, and 30-year-old Gomis are hoping to secure moves away from their respective clubs this month.

Gayle, who signed for the Eagles from Peterborough in the summer of 2013, has only made 10 appearances for the club this season.

After failing to feature for Palace since December 7 due to injury and a drop in form, Gayle is expected to leave Selhurst Park, with a host of clubs willing to give him another chance in the top flight.

The Sun report that Palace are willing to exchange Gayle for French forward Gomis, who has scored 12 league goals for Swansea since signing in 2014.

However, any swap deal involving the duo could be scuppered by Sunderland and Newcastle, who are both said to be interested in the France international.

Crystal Palace have not registered a single league goal in five matches and have been linked with several strikers, including ex-Spurs man Emmanuel Adebayor and Serie A star Gregoire Defrel.
