Yohan Cabaye will make his Crystal Palace debut when the Premier League season kicks off this weekend.

The Frenchman had been a doubt after picking up a dead leg in last week's friendly clash at Fulham, but he was back in full training today [Thursday].

The Eagles make the trip to the Canaries of Norwich City on Saturday with boss Alan Pardew boasting a new strength in depth.

He has also demanded a repeat of the high standards from last season that saw Palace climb off the foot of the table to finish 10th.

Crystal Palace legend warns against easing into new season

Pardew said: “Success for us is a season that replicates the second half of last season, with a commitment to win games entertain.

“I like to think we’re an exciting team. It’s dangerous to say that, but I think we’re good to watch.

“I doubt there will be any more signings. We’ve done a marvelous job with the finances and now the team has to deliver.”

Out: Marouane Chamakh

He added: “We’re going to be very strong off the bench this season. [Bakary] Sako is quick and strong. His goal record is what attracted me to him. He scores from wide and he’ll be in competition with Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha.

“Yohan Cabaye could play in any of the top four sides, and he will play against Norwich City.”

Meanwhile, the Frenchman’s compatriot Marouane Chamakh will not be involved at Carrow Road or in the first home game against Arsenal as he continues his recovery from injury.

Pardew admitted he has a decision to make over who will wear the goalkeeper gloves come Saturday, acknowledging that both Wayne Hennessey and Alex McCarthy will have hopes of international action.

“I believe Wales will make Euro 2016 and Wayne will be with them, and I also think Alex will get an England call-up,” he said.

“Both goalies have a great chance of making an international statement, but of course they need to play and that decision lies with me.”
