Striker Glenn Murray knows this weekend’s clash between Liverpool and Crystal Palace at Anfield is going to be special for one man in particular.

That is because the Premier League game marks the final appearance of the Reds skipper Steve Gerrard in front of the Kop.

The Liverpool legend of more than 700 appearances joins LA Galaxy in the US at the end of the season, and Saturday promises to be an emotional Liverpudlian send off.

However, Murray insists that there will be no room for any Eagles emotions and business must come first.

“We’ll be going off to Liverpool to get points out of the game without a doubt,” said the 31-year-old.

“Even though we lost the past two games, we feel we’ve been back on it and it’s great having Marouane Chamakh back - everyone knows his qualities and it’s nice to have him back among the group.”

He added: “Being Steven’s final home game means it will be an amazing occasion to be involved in, but we won’t let that take away from the job we’ve got to do - we’ll be fully focused on the job in hand.”
