Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha reckons Saturday’s Premier League win at Stoke City was built in the Championship.

The 22-year-old latched on to Glenn Murray’s flick on to slot home the winner as Palace came from a goal down to beat the Potters 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium.

Mama Diouf’s gave City the lead, but Murray levelled matters from the spot after Yannick Bolasie was clattered by City keeper Asmir Begovic.

Murray, Zaha and Bolasie forged a prolific relationship when the Eagles secured promotion to the top flight.

And Zaha is pleased to see the trio re-united now striker Murray – sent out on loan to Reading under Neil Warnock - has taken his chance under boss Alan Pardew.

“Our first half was not good at all, but it is the goals that count and we’re buzzing,” he said.

“I’ve played with Muzza [Murray] for years and just know what he is about.

“When I saw him go up for it I thought he could win it. I just made the run and luckily I got on to it.

“We know each other inside out it is just working a treat now I’m just buzzing I managed to get a goal.”

Pardew has been delighted with the exploits of his wide men since taking charge at Selhurst Park at the turn of the year.

But he has challenged them to add more goals to their game and Zaha was only too pleased to oblige at the weekend.

“The gaffer says we are doing everything else right, but once we start scoring that is the main thing,” he added.

“I’m just happy I’m managing to get goals and am adding goals to my performances. As a winger, if you are playing well and not scoring no-one talks about it.

“As long as you are scoring that is the main thing.”
