Wilfried Zaha says he has a smile back on his face again after signing a permanent deal at Selhurst Park.

The 22-year-old signed for Crystal Palace in a deal that sees the winger end a disappointing two-year spell at Manchester United.

He said: “The gaffer [Alan Pardew] has put trust in me and I am trying to give it back by performing for the team.

“I have a smile on my face because I am back on the pitch.”

He is expected to cost Palace around £6m meaning United have made a loss on their initial £10m investment on the winger.

Zaha left Palace in 2013 after helping them win promotion to the Premier League but has since been unable to make an impact at Old Trafford, making just two league appearances.

He is expected to undergo a precautionary medical before completing the deal this evening.
