Crystal Palace captain Mile Jedinak was disappointed to come away from Selhurst Park with only a point on Saturday as he felt his team did enough to win against Stoke.

The Australian, who departs to his home country for the Asian Cup in January, felt the Eagles were the better side after the 1-1 draw.

James McArthur put Palace ahead only for Peter Crouch to level within minutes.

Jedinak said: “It was a tough game, I don’t think conditions helped. I think we probably did enough to win the game, we felt very comfortable.

"It was disappointing to concede when we did, so soon after scoring but we controlled the game and probably deserved to win but couldn’t get the second goal.

“As soon as you score you’re at your most vulnerable. It’s disappointing from our end that we let ourselves concede like that but full credit to them, they took their chance well and got a bit lucky with the deflection but I thought the response afterwards was good, we kept at them, and we were really comfortable at the back."

Despite not earning a victory, Jedinak looked for the positives and hopes to go on a run of form.

“It’s not a blow. OK, we dropped two points, and it would have been great to win the game but we have no right to win a football game when you come here, you’re playing experienced opposition all the time.

“It’s frustrating that we didn’t win but they didn’t go away with the spoils either. It’s two games unbeaten now; hopefully we can turn these draws into wins.

“We just have to get on with the job and try to win football games when teams come to Selhurst.

“Yannick is always a constant threat, Cham was mixing it up with the two big centre halves and there were a lot of positives to take from it.”

The skipper also hailed  McArthur as a “true professional” after the Scottish midfielder’s first goal for the club.

“You’re happy enough when anyone scores, Macca’s come in straight away and looked at home, and we are all pleased for him, he’s a hard working lad, he wants to get in among it and do his best at all times and he’s a true professional and I’m glad he got the reward today.”
