Bolasie is getting back to his Eagles best, and he is loving it
Yannick Bolasie is almost back to his best after his rehabilitation continued with a fourth appearance off the Eagles bench on Saturday.
After a hamstring injury kept him out of the opening day fixture against Tottenham Hotspur, the flying Crystal Palace winger had to sit on the sidelines for six games before getting his Premier League debut at Liverpool.
The 24-year-old got 25 minutes at the Hawthorns, and, despite a 2-0 defeat – the Eagles’ ninth in10 outings – he is enjoying playing again.
“It felt great to get on, creating chances and having a couple of shots,” he said.
“It’s always helps my confidence as well so hopefully I can build from that again.
“I have not done too much wrong in my performances so I will be looking forward to the next games coming up.”
He added: “The injury is feeling alright. I’m getting back to my normal self, and as you can see on the pitch I am moving well.
“West Brom was a tough game to come in to, they were up for the battle as well so it made it even tougher.”
Palace remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League, and they face an Everton side this weekend which has been beaten only once in 10 games.
Moreover, Palace have managed just six goals this season, suggesting Bolasie’s return is not before time.
He said: “Not everyone is feeling great but we’ve just got to try and move on.
“We can take some positives from West Brom but we’re conceding from set pieces a lot.
“It is not going to help. We were hardly conceding from set pieces last season, so it’s a bit of a strange one but it can be fixed.”
He added: “We have to keep positive and look forward to the next game.
“It’s at Selhurst and the fans will be backing us. They were great against West Brom so we are looking forward to that.”
