Crystal Palace fans go head to head in charity fundraiser
Crystal Palace fans are going head to head to raise money for a former Eagles legend.
Writers from Five Year Plan Fanzine are taking on producers and presenters from the Holmesdale Online Radio in a 5-a-side match.
Both fan groups have been raising money ahead of the match for the Geoff Thomas Foundation - the former Palace's captains charity which raises money for Leukaemia Research.
The teams met back in April for the inaugural 'Geoff Thomas Cup' match with FYP running 9-0 winners - and HOL Radio are keen to restore some pride this time around.
The game kicks off at 3pm at Beckenham Goals centre on Copers Cope Road on Saturday October 19th.
Donations can be made via justgiving.com/holvsfyp with donators being put into a draw to win a signed Palace shirt.
FYP editor Jim Daly said: "It was a bit of a walk over last time but we know it won't be as easy this time around.
"Any time you mention 9-0 to a Palace fan it bring back horrible memories of that defeat at Anfield in 1990 - which Geoff played in and I think missed a penalty in - but it was thankfully a win for us last time.
"We love Geoff loads, we all have so much expect for him for the work he's done for cancer research in the last few years and this is our tiny, tiny way of helping out.
"We're hoping HOL don't do a Palace and win 4-3 this time."
