Eagles transfer latest - Banton off to Pymouth on loan, Boyd chooses Forest
11:12am Thursday 31st January 2013 in Crystal Palace By Tim Ashton
Target missed: George Boyd, seen challenging Wilfried Zaha when Peterborough visited Selhurst Park last season, has turned down Palace for Forest SP63582
Crystal Palace transfer target George Boyd has elected to join Championship rivals Nottingham Forest.
The Croydon Guardian understands that Crystal Palace offered to match the transfer fee and the player's wages for the Peterborough midfielder, but the supposed die hard Palace fan has chosen to go to Forest.
Meanwhile, Palace midfielder Jason Banton has joined Plymouth Argyle on a youth loan until March 2.
Banton made his Palace debut against Stoke City in the FA Cup third round tie early this month.
