Bees boss Uwe Rosler has told defender Harlee Dean he will learn from the mistakes that cost his side at Leyton Orient on Thursday.

The 20-year-old's error at the back let in teenager Ryan Brunt - who looked suspiciously offside - to score the only goal of the game and end Brentford's three-match unbeaten run at Brisbane Road.

Dean failed to clear ex-Bee Martin Rowlands' lofted ball into the box, but Rosler refused to blame the former Southampton centre back for the 1-0 defeat.

"Harlee Dean is 20-years-old and starting his first full season," he said.

"When he is 35 he might have been able to deal with that situation.

"I’m not criticising him or blaming him, that is the sort of situation he will learn from.

"Compare him when he came from Southampton to where he is now.

"He is a first class defender and he will also learn to deal with those situations."

The Bees dominated at Brisbane Road but slipped to a 1-0 defeat thanks to Brunt's second half strike.

Midfielder Harry Forrester impressed again, while striker Farid El Alagui was a threat when he came off the bench, leaving Rosler to admit there maybe changes for next Saturday's visit of Oldham Athletic.

With our formation, I wanted to take as much defensive responsibility as possible away from Harry Forrester and play him out on the side," he added.

"He was creative, sharp, confident and he gave our offensive game a lot. Our three central midfielders did extremely well.

"I think Paul Hayes is ready to start games for us. It was a good opportunity with us playing more of a flat midfield four. I thought he was very sharp and intelligent and in his first game for our club did very well.

"Farid comes from the second tier in Scotland. We have to be careful. With the amount of games we play and with a small squad, we want to keep all of our key players fit.

"Talking to Farid there was no problem and against Bournemouth we might start with different players."
