Brentford boss Uwe Rosler praised his side’s resilience after two goals in a frantic final few minutes at Walsall salvaged a draw.

However, the League One side’s boss was not happy with a solitary point, demanding that his players strive for more from every game.

The Bees were 2-0 down thanks to two quickfire Walsall goals after 30 minutes, but strikes from Jonathan Douglas and Clayton Donaldson, with his fourth of the season, ensured a share of the spoils in the final five minutes.

Rosler said: “We did well to fight back in the second half.

“We started well but presented them with goals thanks to our errors.

“If we keep making such errors we won’t be able to cement a place in this league.

“But we didn’t panic at 2-0 and played the game right, not pumping balls into their area rather playing the ball from side to side and getting into the box.”

Rosler could take some credit for the fightback after the introduction of new loanee Jake Bidwell with 14 minutes to go.

Rosler said: “Jake is very precise with his crossing and I felt we needed some momentum going forward.

“He can attack and defend and that is what we need for our diamond formation.”

Brentford host Colchester, who have endured a tough start to the season and are without a win to their name, at Griffin Park on Saturday.
