Brentford boss Mark Warburton is getting tired of rival managers saying their team have had an off day after losing to his side.

Last month’s 2-1 win over Norwich City ensured the Griffin Park chief now has the best win ratio – 57 per cent – of all Bees managers thanks to 15 triumphs in 28 Championship outings thus far.

Warburton’s men lost 1-0 to Middlesbrough on Saturday, but could easily have been two goals up at half time with the chances they created against the second meanest defence in the country’s top four divisions.

Brentford travel to Leeds United tomorrow for a tough assignment on the road and the manager is hoping his side will be given the credit they deserve should they return from Elland Road with three points.

“It is amazing how many teams have ‘bad days at the office’ against us. It would be nice for managers to say we stopped their team from playing well once in a while,” said the manager, who was nominated for the Championship's manager of the month award this week.

“For example, look back at the reports and see how many managers say their right winger had a quiet day against us.

“They forget to mention how well Jake Bidwell is playing. It is funny how wingers seem to save their ‘worst games’ for when they are up against him.

“For someone his age to have 150 league games under his belt, shows you what a fine player he is.

“We have lots of players like him and it would make a change for people to recognise we are a good team.”
