Bees boss Mark Warburton has set his men a points target to be in the hunt for automatic promotion.

Brentford followed up Saturday's 2-0 win over Bradford City by beating struggling Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night by the same score, thanks to goals from James Tarkowski and Clayton Donaldson - his second in successive games.

The result and Leyton Orient's win at Port Vale leaves Warburton's men third in the League One table - a point behind the second-placed Os, but with two games in hand.

And the Griffin Park chief believes a minimum of five wins and two draws from their remaining 12 games will hopefully see his side avoid the lottery of the play-offs.

"I think you’re going to need a minimum of 90 points to have a chance of automatic promotion,” he said on Tuesday night.

Five games remain to be hosted at Griffin Park and the manager fears visitors to west London will make life difficult for his men.

"Teams come here and park the bus," he added.

"The desire of teams coming here is to slow the tempo down.

"We saw it on Saturday and we saw it again on Tuesday. It’s up to us to play at our tempo and it’s very important we play our way."

Warburton hopes to have Harlee Dean and Toumani Diagouraga available for Saturday's trip to Brisbane Road and is delighted to have a near full-strength squad for the run-in.

"Harley will be chomping at the bit to get his place back. It is a nice problem to have," he said.

"We have a lot of games coming up, especially with Rotherham, Oldham and Sheffield United in the space of eight days.

"You need everyone in the squad.

"When we need Toumani, we will call him back. We need a full squad until the end of the season. We’ll recall him at the right time."
