Neal Ardley admitted most of his Dons stars had an off-day in the 0-0 draw against Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday night, but he was comfortable with his point.

The stalemate, Dons first this season, lifted Ardley’s men to 12th in League Two, while Argyle remain in the play-offs.

Dannie Bulman returned from suspension and Andy Frampton came in for Alan Bennett.

Dons edged the chances with Adebayo Akinfenwa hitting the crossbar and George Francomb guilty of a glaring miss at the end of the first half.

Ardley said: “George’s chance was a key moment, and we all know that goals win games.

“But overall I thought it was an entertaining game, end to end and full-bloodied.

“I cannot pick one player who I didn't think had a decent game and gave everything.

“At times we lacked that little bit of quality, but the goalkeepers and defences of both sides were excellent.”

He added: “We’ve worked hard to tighten up and not concede, so overall I’m happy with the performance.

“I’d have loved the three points, but a draw was a fair result and I will take the point.”

This weekend, Dons face a different proposition in Tranmere Rovers.

The Merseyside outfit are bottom of the table, but addressed their position by sacking boss Rob Edwards and hiring Micky Adams earlier this month.

Ardley said: “Micky is a great coach and will have them well organised.”
