Kelle Roos made his AFC Wimbledon debut on Saturday in the win over Luton Town, and he left the stadium with his manager’s praise ringing in his ears, writes Tim Ashton.

The 23-year-old custodian, on loan from Derby County, ousted James Shea from between the posts after a disappointing performance against Yeovil Town last month.

Ardley said: “We are the second best in the league when it comes to teams having attempts on our goal – I think Pompey are top.

“So as an outfield 10, we have defended brilliantly, but whatever small chances we’ve had on our goal have gone in.

“Luton had 15 attempts on goal and six on target – which is high against us at our place – and Kelle [Roos] has had a really good debut and he can be proud of himself.”
