Boss Neal Ardley does not want to rock the AFC Wimbledon promotion boat following a fifth win in six games last weekend.

A 4-1 hammering of Luton Town at the Cherry Red Records stadium on Saturday, lifted the Dons to 10th in the League Two table, three points off the play-offs.

Lyle Taylor bagged a brace to take his season’s tally to 13 in all competitions, and Sean Rigg also got on the scoresheet.

However, the goals were kick-started by a first senior goal for Ryan Sweeney – coming on the back of David Fitzpatrick’s first senior goal the weekend before.

Ardley said: “It’s very pleasing. We’re trying our best not to change things too much in training, keep the training regime the same, keep the players fresh and try to enjoy the last third of the season.

“If we can keep the players happy, not doing anything weird and wonderful, keep the energy high and the good feel about the place, then we'll see where it takes us.

"If it's successful, great. If it's not, it's not going to be for the want of trying.”

He added: “I thought Luton enjoyed a lot of the ball in the first half, I know what [Nathan] Jones likes to do and they have adapted their style.

“They are a team in transition, and they caused us more problems than a lot of teams have by picking us off at times.

"We got some bits wrong in the way we pressed and our distances, but we got two good goals in quick succession at a good time, and from that point we’re in control."
