Tooting & Mitcham's caretaker manager Jamie Martin says Roberto Forzoni probably lost his job because of results.

And the former Chelsea youth player revealed he would be throwing his hat into the ring as the club begins its search for a replacement.

The Terrors have won twice in seven Ryman League Division One South games and are also out of the FA Cup and the FA Trophy.

Martin said: "I count Roberto as a very good friend and I am sorry to see him go, but at the end of the day this is football, and football is a results-led game.

"We've only won four out of 11 games, and in the last three games we've shipped 12 goals - I have a feeling it was always on the cards."

On his own ambitions for the post, Martin said: "I would make some changes, I think we need at least five more players.

"The lads here work very hard but we lack the experience needed in this league. It can be rough and tumble at times and sometimes the lads need to do more than play pretty passes."

Martin will be in charge for the league visit of Walton Casuals tomorrow night (Tuesday).
