Sutton United boss Paul Doswell has scotched talk the club is splashing the cash to land Blue Square South promotion next season.

The Gander Green Lane chief has impressively signed former AFC Wimbledon skipper Jamie Stuart and is thought to be tailing ex-Yeovil Town, striker Kezie Ibe and Exeter City midfielder Chris Shephard, but rejected claims it was the lure of cash that was attracting them.

“Because of our training facilities and the switch to morning’s people know we are taking things seriously and want to come here,” he said.

Meanwhile, Sutton have secured a five-figure investment from Southampton-based Paris Smith Solicitors to take over as the club’s main shirts sponsors from A Plant.

To mark the news, the Sutton Guardian is giving away an embroidered Sutton United first team shirt commemorating last year’s FA Cup visit of League One Notts County and a season ticket for the coming Blue Square South campaign.

To win answer this question: What was the score when Sutton played Notts County in the FA Cup last season?
