Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper thought he’d stumbled across a new way of protecting his players against concussion on Saturday and it was Kingstonian who ended up seeing stars.
The Blues showcased club sponsors bubble-football.co.uk on the Imber Court pitch at half time before they went on to secure a 2-1 Ryman Premier League win.
Cooper’s men have secured 16 of a possible 21 points from their past seven league matches to leave the manager dreaming of the play-offs.
“When I came out of the tunnel I had to rub my eyes because I thought it was a new way of keeping my players fit,” he said of the half time entertainment.
"They weren't in the squad, they were volunteers giving a demonstration for one of our sponsors."
He added: “I’ve set the players a target of being up and around the play-offs by the new year and we are not far off that.”
