If the Brentford squad have been distracted by speculation over striker Andre Gray’s future, then they are not showing it.

The 24-year-old turned down a move to Bristol City this week after the Bees accepted a reported offer of £9million for the former Luton Town front man.

Gray reported for training on Thursday having been given a few days off to speak with the Robins earlier in the week and he is expected to feature in Saturday’s Championship trip to Burnley.

Midfielder Toumani Diagouraga believes the squad has only been thinking about three points at Turfmoor.

And even if he does move on, with Hull City still waiting in the wings, the Frenchman believes that is just football.

“What ever Andre does, all the players are just concentrating on Burnley,” he said.

“Of course, you want to keep your best players, but every player has a price on his head.

“If he does go, we will all wish him good luck and then carry on.”

Head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen will step up efforts to bolster his injury ravaged squad ahead of the transfer window closure at the end of the month and admits replacing Gray – should he leave – would be tough ask.

“There was a bid from Bristol City that was accpeted. The last couple of days he had space to talk with them, but he didn't agrree and now he is back," he added.

"He is a very good player for us, important for us, so I hope he will stay.

“We are working behind the scenes to get other players in to prepare for if he goes, so we can get another one in.

“It is difficult, especially with two weeks until the deadline.

“A lot of clubs are looking for strikers. It is a difficult job.

“We are a little bit short because of injuries. We do not have enough players if we get any more."
