Met Police boss Jimmy Cooper fears his men could feel the force of a Kingstonian backlash this weekend.

The Blues boss was a face in the crowd at Kingsmeadow for Monday’s Leatherhead horror show in preparation of his side’s visit to the Ryman Premier League’s bottom club this Saturday.

“Leatherhead were superb, but Ks really didn’t turn up on the night, “ said the Imber Court chief.

“It wasn’t a good game for me to go and watch them really.

“I expect they will want to put in a real performance against us and show their fans what they are all about.

“It could be a very tough game for us.”

Cooper’s men, who reached the play-offs last term, drew 0-0 at much-fancied Staines Town last week before goals from Charlie Collins and ex-Hampton midfielder Joe Turner secured a 2-1 win at Lewes on Wednesday night.

"There is still a lot of room for improvement, but we'll take four points from six as a start," added the manager.

"We have to do better when other teams have spells of pressure against us."

Former Blues centre back Steve Sutherland scored for Lewes on Tuesday, but Cooper insisted there was no hard feelings towards him.

"He played very well. He left us to join Dulwich Hamlet and for whatever reason it did not work out for him," he said.

"There is no ill feeling on our part. He left the club on good terms.

"His celebration was a little exuberant. I'm pleased he scored and even more pleased we got the three points."
