Hampton & Richmond Borough chairman Steve McPherson is confident hosting Brentford U21 matches will not affect the quality of the Beveree pitch for the Beavers.

McPherson signed a deal to host eight of the Championship Bees' young professionals' Development League South matches next term, which could see futures stars from QPR, Crystal Palace, Millwall, Charlton Athletic and Swansea City visit Station Road.

“Is fantastic that Brentford see Hampton & Richmond Borough as the place they want to host their under-21 fixtures and we’re thrilled that we can lend a hand," said the chairman.

“The on-going work on the Beveree pitch will make the surface a lot stronger, and with there being no reserve team this season, hosting additional games at the club without any interference to the first team is not a problem at all.

“The pitch is coming on superbly and it’s fitting that we welcome Brentford for our first pre-season friendly on July 8 to test it out for the first time."
