AFC Wimbledon will kick-off their new League Two campaign at home to Plymouth Argyle on August 8.

The Pilgrims missed out on promotion last season aftrer losing to Wycombe Wanderers in the play-off semi-finals.

The Dons held Argyle to a 0-0 draw in Devon, and 1-1 at home, thanks to a Adebayo Azeez goal.

However, failure to win promotion cost manager John Sheridan his job, and he was replaced by Derek Adams.

The Dons continue their own work with a trip to Crawley on August 15, ahead of the first league game under the Cherry Red Record stadiums floodlights on August 18 against Cambridge United.

The season ends, as it began, at the CRRS, but Newport County are the visitors.

The draw for the first round of the Capital One Cup was made this week, and the Dons face a trip to Championship side Cardiff City – the home of manager Neal Ardley’s former employers – on the week beginning August 10.
