Arsenal youngster Jon Toral has thanked Brentford boss Mark Warburton for giving him the chances in the Championship that could set him on his way to a starring role in the Premier League one day.

The former Barcelona academy youngster bagged the first senior hat-trick of his career as Brentford swept aside Blackpool 4-0 at Griffin Park, to make it back-to-back wins since the club confirmed Warburton’s departure at the end of the season.

Toral, who learnt his trade at the Nou Camp before joining the Gunners, has been forced to make most of his appearances off the bench during his season-long loan from the Emirates.

But the 20-year-old took advantage of a rare start for the Bees to help put his team back in the play-off frame when some were predicting a dramatic fall from grace.

Waburton has tipped Tottenham Hotspur loanee Alex Pritchard, Everton youngster Chris Long and Toral for greatness – whether that be with their parent clubs or with the Bees.

The Spaniard is expected to return to Arsenal in the summer and if he does enough to force his way in to Arsene Wenger’s first team plans, then he knows who helped him get there.

“I’m very thankful to him [Warburton] because obviously he’s given me the chance with my first professional club,” he said.

“He’s given me chances on the pitch and that's what I needed and wanted and I’ve learnt a lot from him and I’m enjoying it.

“It’s great, he’s been great with me I’m learning a lot from him and all of the staff and I’m thankful for that. Thanks to him I’m here and if he thinks I can play in the Premier League it is great.

“If a really good manager thinks like that it’s great for me.”
