Carshalton Athletic winger Sean O’Toole bagged a worldy goal to help beat Three Bridges on Saturday, but he wants no plaudits, just the points.

A brace by the 20-year-old included a 70-yard dribble and smart finish as Carshalton came from behind to beat Three Bridges 3-2.

The win, sealed by a Mickel Miller strike and the second in three games for caretaker boss Rob Scantlebury, lifted the Robins to 17th in Ryman Division One South.

O’Toole said: “The most important thing was the final result, we really dug deep for it.

“We were poor in the first 20 minutes and trailed at the break, but the boss instilled his belief in us at half-time and told us to up our work rate.”

Carshalton stormed out the blocks after the break with O’Toole making it 1-1 by ramming home a cross by Miller.

“That goal was important because it proved we could more than just live with them,” O’Toole added.

“Although that feeling was threatened as we then conceded a silly second from a long throw.”

But there was no lack of confidence shown by the young winger on 75 minutes when he took the ball near his own box and set off to beat six opponents before making it 2-2.

“When you run like that you just block everything else out and focus on keeping going, although I remember realising what I had just done as I shot for goal,” he said.

“We’ve been given the freedom to try things however and I’m really feeling the trust Rob has in us all.”

The Robins go to Herne Bay this Saturday.

O'Toole said: "We know we'll need to start brighter than we did against Three Bridges, but we'll work hard in training this week.

"It'll be important we don't let our performance dip now we've proven to everyone we can play like that."
