Brentford boss Mark Warburton has warned Alan Judge’s first goal for the club could be the tip of the iceberg for the Blackburn Rovers loanee.

The 25-year-old netted his side’s second goal and laid on the third in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Bristol City, having given the Gillingham defence a torrid time four days earlier.

Warburton has said the Bees will be at their best when they play with a smile on their face and the former Notts County man has proved that with some livewire displays since his arrival at Griffin Park

And the Bees chief expects more over the closing months of the campaign.

“When Alan Judge first came in his energy levels were down, his fitness levels were way down compared to the rest of the squad,” he said.

“He has worked really hard in training and now he is getting back up to the level.

“He’ll say there is more to come, which there is. He cuts in and can go outside and is great on the ball. He also defends as well.

“He’s enjoying his football and playing with a smile on his face and I’m pleased he scored against Bristol.”

Warburton added Arsenal’s England U19 international Nico Yennaris to the squad on a two-and-a-half year deal on Monday.

It signalled the departure of Shaleum Logan to Aberdeen on loan with a view to making a permanent switch to the Scottish Premier League outfit.

And the manager, who has emphasised the need for strength in depth, insisted 19-year-old Yennaris was not at the club to play in the
development squad.

“Nico has had a great academy education and his best position could be anywhere,” he said.

“He can play right back, left back, defensive midfielder, attacking midfielder.

“He’ll have learned loads from sitting on our bench on Tuesday, seeing how we play and what we expect.

“He’ll have an important role to play this season.”
