Hams: Casuals have nowt to shout about
Walton Casuals boss Mark Hams may still be wet behind the ears in management, but he knows you do not win anything in September.
Casuals hit the top of the Ryman Division One South table – if only for 24 hours before being replaced by Leatherhead – with a 2-1 win at Corinthian Casuals on Tuesday, thanks to a Liam Collins effort and Connor French’s injury-time winner.
It followed Saturday’s 3-2 triumph over Redhill that featured goals from ex-Ks pair Bobby Traynor and Jimal Okai, and one from Malachi Hudson.
“We’ve played eight games so there is nothing to shout about yet,” said Hams, pictured left.
“If we’d played 28 games then I would be blowing about it.”
He added: “It was not a good performance on Tuesday, but it was a good result.
“In certain areas we were better than them, but at times they completely outplayed us.”
