Former Brentford striker Marvin Williams has signed for Sutton United after impressing manager Paul Doswell with a hat-trick while playing against his new boss.

The 25-year-old banged in three against United while playing for Salisbury at the end of last season.

Williams joined Blue Square South rivals Eastleigh over the summer but has only turned out eight times for the team from the south coast.

The striker, who has spent time playing for Ostersunds FK in Sweden, made 51 appearances for Millwall scoring seven goals, as well as 34 appearances in a Bees shirt.

Doswell said: ""I've been watching Marvin for some time, and we moved quickly when he became available.

"He is quick, can play down the middle or wide, and knows where the goal is and will increase the competition amongst our strikers."

First team coach Steve McKimm said: "He scored a hat-trick against us and I know Paul [Doswell] was impressed.

"We're hoping he will add to our strikeforce, not take it over. Our lads have not been getting the run of the green in recent games so hopefully Marvin's experience can take them up a level."

Williams trains with Sutton for the first time tomorrow (Friday) and will be available for the Blue Square South trip to Truro City.
