Twickenham batsman Simon Dunning gets his weight behind things on the Green on Saturday as his 38 – along with 56 from skipper Carlos Nunes – helped his side recover from 15-5 to reach 153 all out in their Middlesex County League Premier Division top of the table clash with Teddington.

Their total fell well short of par – in the face of fine bowling from Ben Ladd-Gibbon 5-56 – as the visitors, with Harry Bush (70) starring, chased the winning target for the loss of six wickets to stretch their advantage at the summit to 14 points with seven games to go.

Twickenham, who remain in second place, completed a miserable weekend of cricket as they crashed out of the Middlesex Cup on Sunday at the hands of Brondesbury.

Ts posted a miserly 109 all out before the visitors eclipsed that mark for the loss of just three wickets.

Elsewhere in the Middlesex County League Premier Division Bhavesh Pankhania’s second half century of the season was not enough to help Richmond to victory at bottom-club Finchley on Saturday.

Pankhania hit 51 at the top of the order as Richmond were dismissed for 165 chasing a victory target of 240.

Skipper Jack Porter had earlier claimed 4-62 as he took his season’s wicket haul to 19.

Fixtures: Twickenham v Hornsey, Richmond v Hampstead, North Middlesex v Teddington.
