Spencer are once more looking over their shoulder at the Surrey Championship Premier Division relegation zone after defeat to Sutton on Saturday.
The 20-run loss leaves Spencer only two places and six points above the bottom two, which Sutton moved out of thanks to their win.
Spencer’s bowlers struggled against Sutton’s openers but figures of 4-70 for Daniel O’Shea helped bowl them all out for 227.
It proved too much for Spencer’s batsmen though as they were all out for 207, Tim Percival top scoring with 47. They go to fourth-placed Reigate Priory on Saturday.
In division three, Bank of England were comprehensively beaten by 137 runs by Coulsdon, Chipstead & Walcountians.
Joe O’Gorman took 3-42 but Coulsdon declared on 254-5 after 51 overs to set Bank a target they would not come close to.
Having been reduced to 77-7, Jack O’Brien’s 24 restored some pride before they were bowled out for 117. They host relegation battlers Cobham Avorians on Saturday.
