Herne Hill Harriers’ Jeff Cunningham and Julia Wedmore were victorious at the Frank Harmer 10km in Brockwell Park on Sunday.

Cunningham clocked 34 minutes 14 seconds, while Wedmore impressed in finishing 10th overall in 38:56.

The race – organised by Harriers – doubled as the club’s 10km championship, meaning Cunningham and Wedmore claimed the titles and first places.

Alan Wray was second, with Herne Hill’s Matt Munro third in 36:27, Sean Fitzpatrick fourth in 36:31, Mark Blee eighth in 38:27 and Jonathan Ratcliffe ninth in 38:38.

In Battersea Park, Mohammed Ismail placed fourth in the Self-Transcendence 10-mile road race in 55:43, with club mate Abdi Madar second in 54:56.

Mike Cummings and Chris Busaileh, meanwhile, were winners at parkruns at Southwark and Dulwich respectively, clocking 16:20 and 16:40.

Tom Conlon was fourth at Dulwich in 17:48, Robert Edwards sixth in 17:53 and Tom Levitt ninth in 18:36.

Fourteen-year-old Ella Newton also claimed an impressive personal best at Dulwich, clocking 19:13, while Mel Edwards was 17th overall in 19:25.

Alex Hobley was 42nd at the Coventry half-marathon in a personal best 1.21:39, while Laura Dowsing was 10th woman at the Race Your Pace half-marathon at Eton Dorney in 1.33:56.

Long jumper Ore Adamson won a silver medal at the England Athletics Indoor Age Group Championships at Sheffield, finishing the U15 girls' event with a best jump of 5.45m.

Michaela Obijiaku was fifth in the U20 women's shot.
