More than 200 runners defied floods and mud to complete the Dash for the Splash on London’s Wimbledon Common London last weekend.
The 10km event over a tough, muddy, hilly and water-logged course was staged by the world’s oldest cross-country club, the Thames Hare & Hounds.
Within a mile of the start, competitors battled their way through swirling water in the Beverley Brook.
The course then makes its way through unrelenting hills, passed the historic Wimbledon windmill and climaxed via several muddy swamps.
