Streatham-Croydon returned to winning ways to keep in touch with the pace-setters in Surrey Divison Two, after a 22-15 victory at bottom club Worth Old Boys.

Streatham were three tries up at half time and scored a fourth, through influential number eight Simon Hampton, within the first 15 minutes of the second half, to secure the bonus try point.

Streatham opened their account in the first half following good continuity down the right-hand side of the pitch, neat interchanging of passing saw captain Garvin Toussaint punching his way over from close range.

This was followed by a second try from Vinnie Auguiste following a beautifully timed pass from flanker Maika Daveta, which saw the expedient winger touch down in the corner.

The third try before half time, scored by full back George Shaw, again owed much to Auguiste whose tenacious tackling following a kick forced the Old Boy winger into a moment of absentmindedness, thus allowing Shaw to intercept and run untouched to the try line.

Next week, Streatham-Croydon host Chipstead (kick off 3pm), the league’s only unbeaten side.
