West Ewell endurance driver Duncan Tappy has led his ART GP team to its first ever ProAm Class win in the final meeting of the Blancpain Endurance Series.

The 28-year-old took over from team mate Gregoire Demoustier at the wheel of their McLaren MP4-12C in second place in class.

He pushed his way to the front before handing back to Demoustier who completed the 89 laps around the Navarra circuit in Spain.

The pair’s time of just under three hours, placed them ninth overall but, most importantly, as the number one ProAm team.

Tappy said: “It was a really entertaining race for me. I was involved in tight battles throughout.

“I’m very happy for everybody at ART GP and McLaren GT who really deserve this win.

“The car was strong around here and at one point we were in pretty good shape for overall honours but it wasn’t to be.

“Still, this is a perfect way to end the season and I hope for many more to come in the future with this team.”
