Battersea Ironsides remain unbeaten and on top of Surrey Two after a thumping 62-7 win over Worth Old Boys.

The deluge of points also means the Ironsides have scored 151 points in three games.

A fearsome start from the Ironsides immediately put a stretched old Boys, who had turned up with no bench, on the back foot.

This was exacerbated when, in under five minutes they lost one of their players to a broken finger and had to continue with 14 men.

Ironsides quickly took the opportunity and scored in the corner with Ben Siaw adding the extras.

Unfortunately the lead was short-lived with a lapse of concentration at the restart and poor defence saw Old Boys run round the backs cover and score under the posts to level the score at 7-7 with less than 10 minutes played.

That was the only time WOBS managed to cross the Ironsides whitewash and Ironsides responded with two tries to leave the score 21-7 after 20 minutes.

Ironsides pack gave no quarter and pushed over a scrum, and drove from a lineout and the teams turned round at half time 31-7

For the remainder of the match, the Old Boys kept defending but the Ironsides' dominant forwards built platforms for the unforgiving pace of full-back Tyson Peters to capitalise on.

This included a truly amazing individual try beating five men to score under the posts from the halfway which took him to his hat trick.

Not to be outdone, number eight Shannon Millard took three tries for himself but was grateful for the brunt of the work to be carried out by his pack.

Prop Rob Phillips also made the scoresheet as did centre Ash Hallett twice.

Table-toppers Ironsides face their toughest test yet on October 20 when they face third-placed Chipstead.
