Hercules Wimbledon Athletics Club teenager Alex Lloyd-Jones had an outstanding run in winning the Richmond Park parkrun on Saturday.

In a 282-strong field, Lloyd-Jones chopped 54 seconds off his personal best over the 5k course by finishing in 17 minutes, 19 seconds - a full 17 seconds ahead of the field.

His time also lifts him to fourth place on the Hercules Wimbledon all-time U17 5km list.

At the other end of the age scale, Hercules Wimbledon veterans Peter Lee, Tom Cheetham and Peter Collins posted year-best times over the weekend.

Lee was top veteran over-45 finisher in the Self Transcendence 10km road race in Battersea Park on Saturday morning finishing 10th out of 150 runners in 35:57, his best time for the distance this year.

Amy Aronson clocked a lifetime best of 39:43 in finishing third in the women's race, slicing 14 seconds off her previous best time set in the Bupa London 10km event in May.

Monika Crouse, who was second in the women's over-35 veterans category, also recorded a lifetime best of 43:01, a massive 3:32 improvement on her previous best time for the distance set in in the Richmond event in Old Deer Park last November.

Cheetham slashed 45 seconds off his previous best time for the distance when he was top veteran over 45 finisher in the Folkestone Rotary half-marathon on Sunday in one hour, 27:40. He finished 20th out of 450 runners.

Over-45 veteran Collins chopped 20 seconds off his previous best time when he led a 19-strong Hercules Wimbledon contingent home in the Wimbledon Common 5km parkrun on Saturday morning.

He was top veteran in finishing third out of 371 runners in 17:57 to improve on the time of 18:17 he set at the beginning of August.

Andrew Davies was seventh in 18:25 and Adam Harwood 12th in 18:40, just ahead of his Hercules Wimbledon clubmate Sean Crummy who clocked 18:57 on his debut appearance in the event.

David Harris was 23rd in 19:48 and Charles Hampden-Smith 25th and third veteran over-50 in 19:51. Steve Sinnott, taking part in the event for only the second time, improved on his debut appearance in June by a massive margin of 6:34 in finishing 32nd and fifth veteran over-50 in 20:07.

Angela Kikugawa broke the Hercules Wimbledon women's over-50 half-marathon record when she clocked 1:59:25 in the Bristol half-marathon on Sunday. She was 5,529th out of almost 10,000 runners.

First Hercules Wimbledon finisher was Matt Sharpwho was 54th in 1:15:39, four places and 48 seconds ahead of clubmate and Surrey steeplechase silver medallist Rob Tuer.
