The annual inter schools Concentric Cross-Country Challenge promoted by Croydon Harriers with Trinity School, attracted more than 120 runners to battle it out at Coombe Lodge on Saturday.

It was soon clear after the field settled down on lap one that Robert Lutacome of John Fisher juniors would be  hard to catch.

Try as they might, the intermediates and senior on longer laps could make no impression and the clearly talented youngster romped home well clear.

Juniors dominated the early finishers with second and third places going to Barnaby Schooling of Oxted and Ryan Galvin of John Fisher.

First of the other age groups to finish were intermediate Will Badsley of Oxted in 20th and senior Joshua Haasz, representing Whitgift School, in 43rd.

Oxted County School, ever the force to be reckoned with, took the team title from the rapidly improving Whitgift School squad, their lead scorers were juniors Oliver Randall and Scott Jones, with intermediates Josh Miller and Charlie Godieup next.
